Dutch Oven Cooking

Saturday October 11, 2008 Eunice and competed in the Rogue Dutch Oven Harvest Cook-off in Eagle Point, Oregon. It was very cold early that morning, the night before it was only 24F/-4C so it was still pretty cold at 8am. We cooked until 1:30pm (Judgement Time). We cooked some awesome food- Acorn Squash Stuffed with Saffron Rice and Turkey, Vegetable Curry Turnovers and a Walnut Pear Tart. We did pretty good I'd say We won 1st Place on the Main Course and 2nd Place on our Bread. I didn't get to taste my dessert so I really don't know if it tasted good or not but the crown said it had an awesome taste. It was fun, it would have been better if there were more contestants. Supposedly they are going advertise heavy for the next one in May so we will see what happens. I don't think I will get invited back I showed them who was boss with my awesome tasting and great looking food.
